FAQs - selling

What happens if some or all of my items don’t sell?

All items remain listed until they are sold or removed. At any time you may remove, change or add items in accordance with your subscription level.

How many items can I sell?

Let’s say you have a White Subscription which allows for 30 unique items to be listed at any one time. If you have five of the same DVD title, you can list them as a single item with a total of five being available. There is no limit on the quantity of each unique item.

What type of pictures can I use?

You can upload pictures in jpeg or gif format. Our software automatically converts them into the preferred size and type so there is no need to waste all that time trying to make them a certain size or type. However, we recommend you keep files under 1MB in size or they may not upload successfully.

How do I pay my account once I have selected a category?

You can pay with Credit Card (MasterCard, Visa or Visa Debit). All payments to Sellmystuff are made through a third party payment gateway called Eway www.eway.com.au. They handle online transactions for many large Australian companies so you can be sure that your details are secure. If you do not wish to use your credit card, or do not have one, please email accounts@sellmystuff.com.au to make alternate arrangements.

What information should I include in the description of an item?

You should include as much information as you can. Things like colour, age, size, condition will go a long way in assisting a potential buyer in making a decision.

What happens if I decide not to sell an item that I have listed?

This is simple. All you do is log onto your account, review your current items and select the item/s you want to remove and they are removed. If you have received an offer from a potential buyer, you must advise them that you have withdrawn the item from sale.

How do I contact the buyer?

As all communication is directly between the Seller and the Buyer, you will have all contact details of the buyer from when he or she contacted you.

When will my item/s appear on Sellmystuff?

Your item/s will appear immediately after the content of the listing has been approved. All listings are screened to prevent illegal and prohibited items appearing on the site.

How do I send the item to the person?

These arrangements are to be amicably made directly with the buyer when the sale is finalised. We suggest and recommend using Australia Post’s COD service.

What do I do when I sell an item?

To avoid being contacted again for an item you have already sold, you must remove the item once it has been sold. To do this, log onto your account and simply remove it from your listings.

How do I get paid?

In the event that the buyer is unable to pick the item up personally, we suggest and recommend using Australia Post. They offer a COD service that guarantees that the items will arrive, and you will get paid. Please see your local Australia Post for more information or visit http://www.australiapost.com.au/

What happens if the buyer changes their mind?

If the buyer decides he definitely does not want the item, you can simply re list the item in accordance with your subscription level at no additional cost.
